BONDING WITH YOUR CHILD THROUGH MUSIC & MOVEMENT
with well known singer & songwriter Joanie Bartels


A workshop designed for parents and young children.
Together learn songs and activities to use throughout the day; create joyful interactions with your child. Relax and experience a sense of well being, build confidence and self esteem and create a bonding experience to last a lifetime!
Music is a wonderful way to bond with your child.
It promotes a sense of safety, confidence, relaxation,
gentleness & playfulness. It can be used at all times of
the day & can make sometimes stressful situations,
such as nappy changing or bedtime, more fun.
Music & movement will help your child develop emotionally, socially & physically & will create the foundations for learning & communicating.

TUTOR: Joanie Bartels
TIME: 1pm to 2pm
DATE: Thursday 18th February for 7 weeks
FEE: $30 for the term



CELL PHONE BASICS FOR SENIORS
An Age Concern Programme


Are you the proud owner of a new or pre-loved cell phone but no idea how to use it? Come to this basic workshop & unlock the mysteries of that little electronic device known as your mobile.

Bring your mobile phone & user book.

Morning tea included.

DRUG & ALCOHOL TRAINING

Learn to recognise the signs of alcohol and drug use and misuse. Know how to approach or intervene when misuse is noticed and where to refer people who need specialist help.
This is vital information if you are a parent, a caregiver, work with groups (children, teenagers, adults), a grandparent, or you may find it useful in your workplace or neighbourhood.

Programme provided by Abacus Counselling,
Training & Supervision, in partnership with CMDHB
TUTOR: provided by Abacus
TIME: 10am to 12 noon for 2 weeks
DATE: Thursdays 4th & 11th March
FEE: This is a free workshop but booking is essential.



QIGONG
Suitable for those with some experience


In this class we will cover deep breathing techniques, sitting meditation and sequences of movements. Qigong is an excellent way of improving and maintaining physical, mental and emotional health. The class will study the basics of anatomy and physiology according to Chinese classical medicine. This class is suitable for those with previous experience in Qigong and / or with knowledge in any other healing therapy.

FEE: $70 for the term



TAI CHI
Suitable for beginners & those with experience


Tai Chi is a traditional Chinese martial art. Low impact stretching and relaxation exercises to give a gentle but complete workout. Benefits include mental and physical relaxation, improvement in coordination and balance and an increase in the flow of ‘Qi’ or vital life force in order to improve the function of the internal organs.
